Hibernation is Over! Spots to Explore in Minneapolis This Spring
Nothing feels quite so good as a dose of sunshine after hibernation season. As spring rolls in, this is the perfect time to do some exploring in the Minneapolis. Let’s get outside and soak up that sun, shall we?
Let’s start with nature. Minneapolis has a variety of public gardens and nature sanctuaries scattered throughout the park system. After the quiet of winter, a little birdsong is very welcome.
So let’s take a stroll through Lyndale Park to enjoy the Butterfly and Hummingbird Gardens, and Roberts Bird Sanctuary.
In a couple weeks, we can visit the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary too, once the spring season officially begins on April 15th.
And of course we have to mention the beautiful Loring Park Garden of the Seasons, located right next to our office. We can’t wait to see it bloom again this spring!

Even if our wildflowers and trees are fully awake yet, we still have color: Public art! Let’s go on an art scavenger hunt through the city. We’ll see sculptures, mosaics, bridges, fountains, and more, and we’ll learn about our local history in the process.
Again, we have to shout out one of our favorites — the Dandelion Fountain in Loring Park. When the water’s running and the sunlight catches the spray, it’s a little dose of magic.
Nicollet Mall is densely packed with artwork, from the pavement, to lanterns, to benches. You can even sign up for a guided tour of the mall to get the full experience.
There are plenty more art pieces to see — click here to see the full map.

It’d be a shame not to bring some of that spring energy inside, so let’s round out our adventures with a stroll through some plant nurseries. Bachman’s, Sunnyside, Tangletown, and more, can give you something to spruce up your home.
And if ever you can't decide where to explore next, pick a lake and just relax in the sun by the water.
